The Sudhop family

Norfolk Heritage Farm owners Mary and Charles Sudhop divide their time between their primary residence in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and Norfolk Heritage Farm.

Mary comes from an old well-established farming family in England. She purchased the land and facility in 2008 with an inheritance she received from her mother Patricia that could be passed on and enjoyed by future generations .

Mary, who grew up in and around Norfolk, England, renamed the farm to reflect her family's rich agriculture heritage and to honor her mother's memory. Purchasing a horse farm made sense to Mary because she grew up riding across the leafy English landscape. As she often remarks, northeastern Pennsylvania reminds her of her best childhood memories. She values the slower pace on the farm and the close-knit friends and neighbors who have warmly welcomed her and her family to the area.

Today, Mary enjoys riding her lovely black Tennessee Walking horse mare named Zenyatta. The pair has spent many hours exploring the trails both on the farm and on surrounding farmland.

Husband Charles spends his time on the farm pursuing his passion for deer management and habitat preservation. Portions of the farm have been enrolled in state-sponsored preservation programs designed to ensure swaths of northeastern Pennsylvania are maintained for the enjoyment of future generations.

Daughter Jessica rides her palamino tobiano mare, Brie, around the farm and at the local horse shows, and the couple's sons, Michael and Joshua Pearl, enjoy riding, hunting and fishing on the property. Mary's other daughter, Amy anticipates having more time to visit the farm after graduating college and her nursing schedule allows more time away from Philadelphia.
